Lord's Gym Oroville

My husband and I, former high-level athletes, recognized the positive impact fitness can have on any community when we were approached in 2012 about starting a non-profit gym that could offer $5 memberships to youth. We knew this was the venture we were meant to undertake, and in May 2013, we opened the doors to the Lord's Gym. The gym has grown beyond our wildest dreams since then, with over 3,000 members and counting, making it the largest gym in Oroville. We're particularly proud of the impact we've had on the local youth community. The gym attracts around 300 teenagers each month, and this surge in popularity has also generated $55,000 a month. We are thrilled to use these funds to give grants to local non-profits that support feeding people, helping kids, restoring families, rescuing kids from trafficking, and more.

GYM HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The gym gives hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to non-profits all over the world and in Oroville.

  • The gym is volunteer ran.

  • We came up with the money to start the gym by selling Life Time memberships to people in the community for $1,000. We sold forty and this was our seed funding.

  • The gym is in A 17,000 square foot building.

  • The gym was intregal to revitalizing the Downtown of Oroville.
